Rural
Bazar...???
Government is implementing various schemes for the upliftment of the rural poor by providing financial assistance to carry out the economic activity. The skilled rural artisans produce rich products at the village level but due to lack of appropriate marketing facilities and advertisement, their products do not reach the ultimate customer.
Therefore, Govt. has launched a Website called “Rural Bazar Goa”. The Coconut & coconut shell products, sea shell products, clay products, crochet products and all such products produced by the artisans will be given wide publicity through the network thus creating marketing avenue. All these products have real value for money.
Rural Bazar and DRDA
Goa is well known for its aesthetic beauty over the ages. The sanctity of temples, mosques and churches of Goa and shimmering sands of its beaches has made this land remain in the hearts of people all over the world. With rich tradition and cultural heritage, this tiny land has yet remained distinctly unique. This perhaps is best reflected in the arts and crafts fashioned by the hands of Goan artisans. They are indeed a mirror of Goa’s perennial glory and beauty.
These skilled artisans come from economically backward category. They produce rich products. However, due to absence of publicity campaigns & financial constraints, their product could not cross the borders. The District Rural Development Agency(DRDA), Panaji-Goa is playing a vital role to promote these products by providing marketing facilities like arranging exhibitions at the Block level, District level & State level.
Hindustan (India) was known to be a golden bird as the art of the traditional artist was secured by Government protection. With Globalisation the identity of the village products came to stand still. The alluring advertisements of the foreign products captured the world market. To come out of this situation and to bridge the gap, DRDA is taking steps to bring these products on "INTERNET” DRDA has planned to launch a website called “Rural Bazar Goa ” to advertise the products of the rural artisans from one corner to another.
The DRDA has formulated several Self-help groups. Products of these groups have been scanned for the website with a view to capture the world market. The customer can directly access the products from the manufacturer without any middleman, through the website.
